6 Sep, 2024

This Thursday, September 5, the commercial fishing vessel San Arawa II set sail from the port of Ushuaia for a 20-day research campaign. Scientific and technical personnel from the National Institute of Fisheries Research and Development (INIDEP) have boarded the vessel to enhance knowledge about Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus eleginoides) in the area between 54° and 55° South latitude and 61° and 64° West longitude. The main objectives are to deepen studies on the reproductive physiology of the species in the most productive fishing ground and to monitor its reproductive status at the end of the closed season.
