Argentina starts a fisheries improvement project that aims to obtain MSC certification for Patagonian toothfish

Four companies in Argentina are implementing a fishery improvement project with the aim of attaining Marine Stewardship Council certification by March 2025 for the country’s Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus eleginoides) fishery.

The companies – Estremar, Nueva Pescanova, Pesantar, and San Arawa – are working to implement the Argentine FIP with technical support from Latin American NGO CeDePesca, according to information from FisheryProgress, which offers FIP progress tracking databases and tools.
