Argentina is on track to ratify the WTO Agreement against fisheries subsidies

The Foreign Relations Committee of the Argentine Senate issued a favorable ruling for Argentina to adhere to the OMC Agreement that propose the elimination of fisheries subsidies (Protocol Amending the Marrakech Agreement), which negatively affect fisheries, particularly those that could lead to illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (IUU). Now, it must go to the Senate’s chamber to obtain preliminary approval and then must be sent to the Chamber of Deputies.
